A Final Feeding
I watched Faith as she watched me. We were sitting in a room that had not been utilized yet for whatever purpose may be assigned to it eventually. The walls were tan. There was a broken bed frame that lay half up against the wall behind her, and the space within it was filled with golden hour sun speckles scattered throughout the room.
She looked at me as if she was the one interviewing me. Or maybe she was just looking at me as if I was her.
I followed her ocean blue eyes dance around the page as she was reading her final feeding to me. She looks up as she recites the last spoken word from her poem, and I realize that I am her... to her. As she is me.
